Special Exhibits – HELD OVER BY REQUEST FOR 2009!
Don’t Smile for the Camera: Another Angle on Early Photography
Prompted smiles have been part of our cultural consciousness for the past
hundred years. These facades of happiness contrast starkly with the solemn
expressions in early photographs. This exhibition of over fifty 19th to
early 20th century photographs will challenge your perception of how people
should pose for the camera.
Memorial Hall Museums special exhibit “Old
Deerfield’s Pageants & Performances” and summer
concert series are part of the Pioneer Valley History Network's
2009 summer theme,
